WHEN TO START

It's Never Too Early,
and Never Too Late

You can begin as soon as you feel comfortable riding in a car, often around 48 hours after your procedure. There's no need to push it before then. The work is gentle, so surgeon clearance isn't required for most clients. If you're in active cancer treatment, we'll ask you to check with your care team first.

YOUR RECOVERY TIMELINE
The First Two Weeks
What to Expect

2–3 sessions per week

Gentle lymphatic work to ease pain, encourage fluid flow, and help you sleep and de-stress while your body does its hardest healing.

The Next 1–2 Months

About once a week

As you heal, we begin introducing scar tissue care, usually around week three or four, while your tissue is still changing. Starting then helps it heal smoother to the touch and keeps fluid moving.

As You Continue Healing

Every other week

We taper your sessions as your body settles, until you feel like yourself again.

  • Wear your compression garment to your appointment if you have one. It acts as body armor on the way here and supports your lymph flow.

  • Your first visit can be a full hour. Occasionally, a healing body only wants a short session. If your body stops responding, we'll end early and send you home to rest in compression, and we'll adjust your pricing or give you a credit for the unused time.

  • Every plan is personal. Your schedule may look different depending on your surgery, your body, and how you're healing.

  • About timing: many surgeons recommend waiting several weeks before lymphatic massage. Lymphatic drainage is a specialized field, and based on our lymphatic training and 20 years of post-op experience, gentle lymphatic work can often begin much sooner, as soon as you can comfortably ride in a car. Once you've been released from surgical care, choices about your recovery support are yours to make. For anything involving medications or signs of infection, always follow your surgeon's guidance.

It's Never Too Late

The biggest mistake we see is women thinking they've missed their window. We still help clients who are ten years past surgery and never felt quite right.

Wherever you are in your recovery, we'll start with whatever

you bring to the table, literally and figuratively.
